This book should be at least 50 dollars or more. Seriously. It is a blueprint that I am referencing now to improve my blog writing and creating a new email auto responder. There is no holding back in this book of knowledge, and she practices what she preaches with putting a sales pitch of her own in the book.
This book cuts through all the clutter. While there is so much garbage being peddled out as "marketing advice" -- this book is a breath of fresh air. It will provide you with simple and actionable advice you can implement today, and see immediate results. Laura is the real deal when it comes to content marketing, and she has quickly become my "go to" when I need content marketing advice. This book is valuable for any entrepreneur or marketer.
This is one of the best B2B Marketing books. A well written and thought provoking read that places the focus on forward facing marketing techniques rather than legacy centric thinking. I found myself taking notes on the margin of the pages of each chapter as I sought to apply the insights to my situation. I especially appreciated the fact that Heidi took the position that marketers have to be ready to adapt to changing objectives in a dynamic market and that tactics will also continue to evolve. This puts the onus on the modern marketer to be rooted in an agile market strategy that is clearly centered on providing end-to-end business value.
This book was very timely for me and taught me a very valuable lesson: Always be prospecting! If you're in sales and waiting for leads to come in, your pipeline will never be full and you won't make your quota. This book has taught me the discipline of blocking out prospecting time every day, to ensure you always have opportunities. It has also told me how to go about prospecting the right way - by having having a focus on the client issue first, rather than trying to simply sell your product.
If you are interested in the starting a digital marketing agency then this is excellent book for you to read. Joshua does a good job of providing you a road map of what do to have a successful marketing agency. He also runs a youtube channel that I am now subscribed to which he does interviews.
This stuff is great because it reinforces what he mentions , in the book , adds to his authority and give you other cool nuggets that are not in the book. Like most of business books he does have a course that he is pitching but for this book it is not as aggressive as some other books I have read, so decided to not take off a star. Overall if you are thinking about starting an agency this is a great starting point. If you have an agency and not where you want to be I believe this book will set you straight. It is had a ton of value and action steps for you to take to make your agency better.
Thomas Donohoe's "Digital Marketing Playbook" is an essential read for anyone involved in customer or lead generation. Donohoe provides a framework for establishing a baseline of the lowest cost, highest impact digital marketing tactics, which he refers to as the "Core 4."
These include paid search focused on your brand terms, custom audience targeting through paid social media, remarketing with social media and display, and best-practice landing pages that are continually tested and optimized. Before launching any other prospecting or brand awareness efforts, Donohoe states, it is critical to have the baseline in place or you're "setting your money on fire." Great read from a passionate digital marketer who is obviously frustrated by companies who continue to spend inefficiently.
Casey's book shows that he has actually done what he recommends, and with measurable success.
