Author: Manaker MS RDN LDN CLEC CPT, Lauren
Published at: 15/06/2021
ISBN: 1648767095

I got this book mid-first trimester, at a time when I was despairing that everything seemed disgusting to eat. Pre-pregnancy I was a healthy grain-bowl kind of gal; as soon as I hit week 7 or so, absolutely everything seemed so gross, especially vegetables. This book brought me back to food other than saltines and dino nuggets with simple, nutritious, delicious recipes. One of the smoothie recipes (made w coconut milk) is the most delicious thing I have ever tasted, and worth the price of the book alone; I made it almost every single morning a the end of my first trimester, and it truly made a difference with the nausea.

I’ve found every recipe so far to be EASY. I am so grateful for this book. The nutritional advice, sample meal plans, and by-trimester organization is wonderful. As I’ve regained an appetite, I’ve found that I am craving foods rich in certain nutrients at exactly the times I need them most, and I suspect this book had had something to do with that.

I purchased *Real Food For Pregnancy* when I was trying to conceive and I found it incredibly helpful. When I was diagnosed with GD I was terrified, but remembered this author had written this book. After reading it I felt so much more at ease. I have such a low tolerance for carbohydrates in this pregnancy and the NHS guidelines were telling me to pack in low fat dairy and add in MORE carbohydrates than my body could handle which was spiking my BS. So far I have stayed diet controlled, baby is measuring well, I haven't gained any weight while eating for pregnancy, and I am so grateful to this book for giving me the tools to keep myself and my baby healthy.
